Mel's Overseas Trip
Hi All,
Went out on the town a couple of nights ago with my flatmates and met 3 Ingham people. It was strange to meet some people from North Qld as there is not many here. Tried the famous Canadian Molson beer, which was pretty good and a few yager's ( I think that is how you spell it), which is a shot of this stuff that looks like cough medicine and tastes like it too, very potent stuff!!
After a big night on the Yagers the next best thing was to jump in the hot tub at home with a hot chocolate and a toasted bagel ( which I have become addicted to especially the cinnamon and raisin ones mmmm.......).
The snow is slowly melting, the lakes are becoming water again and the bears are coming out. I have not seen one yet but apparently they are very common around the village. I figured if I saw one walking to work I would find the nearest tree to climb, little did I know that bears can climb trees??? So the best thing to do is clap and sing when you are walking on the trails so you do not frighten them, and if you do come face to face with one you should talk to it like you talk to a human being. The instinct would be to run, but apparently they will chase you if you run. Hope I don't encounter one that close, as you know I am not a real animal lover at the best of times.
There is a big ski and snowboard festival here on the 14th April which will be a huge event and will keep us very busy at work massaging. Jurassic 5 and a few other well known bands will be playing here.
Well must go. Take Care.
Miss you all.
Lots of Love
