Mel's Overseas Trip
Hi All,
We have just finished the 7 day Rocky Mountain Tour and had a great time. For the last of the trip we went to Waterton Lakes National Park. This is a small little town with 35 residents but the town looks like something from a movie set. We saw so many deer (Bambi) cause they freely roam around the town, very cute!
Lucy and I lazed around the Lake and generally had a relaxing time at Waterton. We hired a Surrey Bike one day, which is a bike that 2 people can ride. The rental place gave us no warning of brakes or steering, so you can imagine how the story goes. Especially since this was our first experience of Canadian road rules, keeping on the right side of the road. I felt safe cause I had the brakes and the real steering wheel. Lucy's was only pretend thank goodness as most of the ride she was video camering the deer and forgetting to pedal. So all you can hear on the video camera is Lucy saying " Look, more deer!!" and me in the background saying "Lucy keep pedalling!!!"
On the way home we stopped at Bar U Ranch, which is a historic ranch, the first in Canada. Rode a horse and cart, had cowboy coffee and saw a Blacksmith in action, very cool!!
Also went to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, a museum on how the Native Indians use to kill the buffalo by running them off a cliff. Interesting stuff!
Now we are back in Calgary and fly out tomorrow to L.A. We are a little scared to be honest!!
Will put photos on the site in L.A.
Take Care
Miss you all
Lots of Love
Mel
