We stayed at a hotel recommended by the Lonely Planet called 'Dreams hotel' in Dalat. We got quite a cushty deal as they didn't have any cheap rooms availible and as we are on a budget we didn't want to pay anymore than $20 per night. The receptionist reminded me of the characted in 'father of the Bride' film - the french wedding planner! He offered us a pretty sweet room with 2 massive double beds and a bath tub, including jacuzzi jets! we were pretty excited when we saw this as Dalat was rather chilly up in the mountains! I wore my hoody and jeans for the first time since arriving in Asia.
We visited the Datlana falls in the rainforest - got to ride a mini rollercoaster through the forest, very cool! Walking back up a steep hill after however wasn't such great fun...I was wheezing really loudly, I think lucy thought I was going to drop down and die at one point. Breathing still wasn't back to normal.
Later in the afternoon we visited the 'crazy house', a vietnamese architect who had a passion for creating 'crazy' structures that represent the imagination had built a set of rooms within a house all on various themes - such as the giraffe house, with stairs climbing up along the neck into the roof; and the spider house with a big spider web of stairs. Very bizarre.
I'd become obsessed with mossie spray as I still wasn't taking my antimalarials, so I became spray queen for the next 5 days determined not to get bitten!
That evening, we were walking through the centre to find a restaurant for dinner when I tripped on a curb and once again my Haviana broke! Nooooo....2nd time. We were just outside a bar when this lady ran out with super glue in her hand and took the flip flop off me and began to stick it back together. A created a small crowd of people, all wandering what the fuss was about! we found dinner in a restaurant called 'Chocolate', I'd been craving Pizza Express chocolate cake all day so fancied something naughty - I ordered a chocolate pancake - what a let down!!! boooo.
