Might aswell write this down before it starts to fade from memory: I defy anyone who says 3D is overrated until they've tried it in IMAX!
Just spend about 50 minutes watching an amazing documentary about the corral reefs... in 3D... in the worlds biggest IMAX screen here in Sydney.
I s*** you not, the screen was freaking huge! It's not the same type as the one in Sthlm, with a dome. This is just a slightly curved, massive screen. But the size, although stunning, isn't What really blew me away. It was 3D effect that made me s*** my pants. I've seen a few movies in 3D, and admitedly it looks kinda cool with some depth, but this... f***ing hell, it really felt like the fishes were swimming around just 20 meters ahead. When they disappeared off the screen, I really caught myself turning my head trying to follow them until I realized that it was just a movie. It was the curvature of the projection that made it so credible.
And now after a trip to paddys market I ended up with a cool deck of cards and a nice souvenir for mom and dad. Trying to fix up a ticket to byron bay for tomorrow now, with any luck, I'll be heading further north tomorrow evening.
