San Francisco...a gr8 place but very quiet after the bright lights of NYC. Lots (& I mean LOTS of hills) this was not the easiest place to get around, but to make it more interesting we hired bikes. We got to see a lot more, but after the first day everything was sore & getting on a bike was the last thing I wanted to do. We still had to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge though and as that was the reson we hired them in the first place I suffered on! All in all it was good, we saw a lot of parks & beaches & even Japanese tea gardens! We did a tour of Alcatraz, the famous prision where Al Capone was locked up, which was surprisingly interesting. One of the last evenings we went to a seafood restaurant - it looked normal enough but tuned out to be very American - in the middle of serving dinner, the waiters and waitresses all stopped what they were doing and went to do their dance to the "Carwash" song - not even in NYC!
