So here I am in New Zealand, in Auckland, start of a new adventure, and I cant wait......
Arrive at Auckland in the early hours of the morning, after a nightmare 12hr stopover at Santiago, Chile, with a hangover from hell for the previous night of partying in Buenos Aires, well had to leave South American in style...
Was so beat when I arrived at Auckland and ready to knock out a few zzzzzzz..... However, being only 4am, I could not check into the hostel untill after 11 so spent the time talking to a few fellow travellers.
One of which was a nice English lad James who similarly had just travelled around South American and was hoping to buy a car and travel around New Zealand for a few months. Id been considering doing the same, so true to my 'yes' mission I decided to throw caution to the wind and go halfs in buying a campervan with him. I know, it sounds rushed and like im jumping into something without really thinking about it, but thinking is overrated, if I was to live my life the safe way it wouldnt be an adventure.
And as we get on well, but not in those ways ladies, and had similar plans and timeframe it was more of a business arrangement to save cost and have good company along the way.
So we went halfs on a campervan, well a van converted into a camper by puttig a double bed in the back, equiped with camping gear and utensils. We decided on a white 1992 toyota townace whom we lovingly call Heidi the camper, Heidi Hi......Only costing us $2,800, which works out about 500 sterlin each and insurance and 24/7 road assistance is so cheap here. So with everything above board and settled we hit the open road to discover what New Zealand has to offer.......
