Arrived in Panajachel after a nightmare 3 hour journey on a chicken bus with the hangover from hell, stick on a packed bus with no air conditioning and no suspension over the millions of bumps we had to go over, we fianlly arrived at Panajacel. A great little town on the waterfront of a beautiful lake. We rrived just in time to watch the sunset whilst enjoying a great meal and a few cocktails. I love margarites....yummy!!!
As we have 2 days at Panajachel we called it an early night on the first night as we had to get up early the next day as we had arrange to go horseriding in the neighbouring island called San Pedro. So the next morning we gota boat ride to San Pedro, a beautiful little eclictic town with a proper hippy feel about it is so laid back and has great little jewellery shops and wonderfully coloured houses. We were met by our horses, mine was rather small but it went like a wippit, gallopping and bucking the lot, such a 'thrilling' ride through the town and along the mountainside.
So after a 2 hour ride in the morning sun we decided to eat our lunch and beer by the lake front and as it was such a beautiful day we decided to go swimming in the clear, fresh water, however, we didnt have any swimmers so we had to skinny dip.
As all in all a great day that was made even better later on as we enjoyed a farewell party back at the hotel as it was the last but one night in which we were to be a group as had a farewell party to remember. Only problem was that we had to get up at 7am to travel via bus to the next destination, Antigua, via a days shopping at Chichicastenango.......
