Today was our first field trip of the week, we had to get up really early and be on the bus by 6:30 am (way to early when we are normally starting classes at 9:30). Once we all made it to the bus we were then off on our way to Deruta where we would get the opportunity to tour a pottery factory and see all the stages of how to turn clay into something so elegant and beautiful. It was amazing to get to walk through one of the most famous factories from the 1900's. After we visited the pottery factory we then traveled down to the local center part of Deruta where most of the pottery is sold in stores for a cheaper price. It was amazing at how much these places had for sale, everything was so cute I wanted to buy every single piece. Once we left the town after many people bought pottery and such we then traveled to the town of Assisi where Saint Francesco is buried in one of the local catholic churches. Once we ate lunch we then met for our guided tour of the basilolica and OMG words can't even describe how beautiful this place was. It consisted of a couple of churches inside a church. The lower church which has the Saint Francesco crypt in it is beneath the main upper/larger church. We weren't allowed to take pictures out of respect for the practicing frascisians that still live there or I would of taken a million to show you guys. Once our tour was over we were then hurried off on to the bus because our driver had already driven his required hours for the day and would in turn be breaking the law in order to get us back to the Palace which was 3 hours away... it was kind of a bummer since the little town of Assisi was so beautiful we had no time to shop at all and we all wanted to soo bad. We then were on the bus for the next 3 hours until we got home for the eveneing. Now that we are home its time to catch up on the rest of the world: homework, skype, updating pictures and such. Im so thankful that I am here but am starting to realize that its going to be that much harder to leave here in just a few short 8 weeks.
