5:40am... My body clock is either still messed up or its a permanent thing! it'll be easy to get up for work if I continue it when I get home!
Had to wait a bit for the next bus to Manuel Antonio. Went straight into the park and virtually ran past all the guided groups that blocked the entire entry path. This section of the park did feel like 'the amusement park' that Lonely planet described the park as sometimes feeling like. I was there for about 4.5 hours, and did all the trails except for puerto Escondido which was closed! Saw lots of monkeys, a sloth (the coolest slowest thing I've ever seen- I think it's on par with the manatee - only on land!), a huge bright blue butterfly, iguanas, some kind of snakes head poking through, dragonflies, crabs (just like Christmas island red ones- only they had bright purple claws!) and little things similar to Tikal in guatemala that look like raccoons and also a little brown furry creature that I'm not sure what it was! The only disappointing thing was not seeing any unusual birds. I think this would have been the advantage of having a guide- my bird watching skills are not that great! my attention span is far too short! I wanted to see a toucan! Got back to the hostel and organized my photos (my camera was freaking out from being overloaded) and it was pouring for the rest of the afternoon so didn't do a great deal!
