Well the day couldn't have been much worse- it was meant to be the day the world ended- but felt to me like just my world had ended!! Woke up at about 5am and ran outside to throw up! Was worried about bears though because we weren't even allowed to have food in the cabins let alone remains of food outside the dorm!
Ingrid- the lady from Melbourne also had the same as me- she'd been up since 2 though! We could not work out what we had eaten/drank the same!!!
The bus was meant to head from outside Jasper where we stayed back to banff. There were a few stops on the way that I could not do. Got out to use the 'washroom' twice and almost fainted both times!
Got to the banff hostel at about 4:30pm and I couldn't even get my bag out of the bus. Someone got it for me- everyone had been great asking if I wanted anything and helping me out! Went straight to bed and lay down till dinner time. That was a struggle- had a few bites of pizza and a coke and water then went back to bed. After 2.5 hours sleep I had to run to the bathroom- only made it to the sink- and unfortunately blocked the drain up. Charming. Marjon the dutch girl was really good to me- she works in a hospital so she said she's used to it!!
Went to sleep and managed to make it through the night ok. Woke up with a huge stomach ache but managed to keep breakfast down- the first meal since two nights ago.. in the hostel kitchen a stupid girl was trying to get her toast out of the toaster with a fork while it was plugged in!!! She was Asian so probably didn't learn that as a kid!
Walked into banff in the morning- was okay but then relapsed a bit and had to keep resting- they have a lot of benches there luckily! Slept like a homeless person on one of the park benches! I was planning on being active in banff!
Went back to the hostel for a little while then decided to go for a walk into town again and along the river. It started raining which was annoying! It was freezing!
Made myself go and watch the Colombian band in the 'beaver bar' which was definitely worthwhile! Was a bit loud for my sensitive ears but glad to be semi sociable with my glass of water!!
