Got in the min-van to go to Kuala Tahan, I ended up getting the seat right next to the driver, which was ok because I was nackered so didn't have to bother talking s*** the whole way, I just whipped out my travel pillow and towel and slept the entire way. Arrived at around 2pm and as we got out of the van instantly realised how hot and humid it was. Went for a wander around the local area to find a decent place to stay. Found the Teresek View Motel, dumped our things and relaxed. Went for a meal at the hostel and then played scattegories back in the room later that night, had some pretty random things come up during the game, I've never had a Haddock pizza or sandwich before.

Spent the morning playing boggle with scrabble pieces in the room. Ventured out at around midday to cross the river into Taman Negara, the worlds oldest untouched rainforest. We were going to do a canopy walk but it was shut due to the overnight rain so we decided to go to the bat cave instead. The path was a relentless uphill and downhill climb over slippery muddy roots and mud that was infested with ants and leeches. The first person to get leeched was Coops, as she was removing hers Helen got one on her ankle which she flicked with her finger and managed to get it in Coops' hair. After clambering through the jungle for 2.8Km we reached the Bat Cave. By this time everyone was sweating bucket loadts, you literally couldn't take a step without a bead dripping from your nose, Burns leech count was in the double figures although none had properly attatched, and Coops head was bleeding from the one Helen flicked at her earlier. Coops spent a few minutes attempting to scare the crap out of her mother by sending a text saying we were entering a cave while we ate some tuna and crisp sandwiches.
We apprehensively entered the cave which to begin with looked rather tricky to traverse. The first section involved crouching/crawling through a tight gap for about 10 metres in the darkness. Luckily we had brought our wind up torches with us. After about 30 minutes of scrambling around we squeezed through a tight gap and I saw a ceiling full of bats, as I pointed it out to Coops she shone the torch at me and it turns out my head was about 2cm away from another rock with thousands of bats all over it. Needless to say it got really slippery with bat crap from here on. Helen and Coops slid down the next section on their arses and we couldn't find the way to go after that so we turned back. Trekked back to the river stopping on the way to check out the enormous tree with a spreading buttress. There were much fewer leeches on the way back. The final leech stats are as follows; Pat 2, both left ankle, Me 2, left and right ankle, Helen, 1 Heel, Laura 2, ankle and forehead, Burns, 1 knuckle big toe right foot, (16 non attachers). I think that is the most sweaty I have ever been, its quite funny seeing where different people sweat from, Burns was drenched from his nipples to his toes and Pat from his head to his nips.
Got back and drank litres and litres of water while waiting for leech wounds to heal before showering off the scum. Pat and Burns found somewhere to play ProEvo over the road, while we sat in the room and invented no paper hangman / eye spy, Coops spent ages attempting to get 'razor', she went through the entire alphabet twice missing out Z both times. Drank so much water that my piss count between showering and going out for dinner was 7. Ate at a floating restaurant, Pat got an entire flame grilled fly in his fried rice.
