After our little sea kayaking adventure we returned to the campsite to find that louise had salved away packing everything up for us like the star she is so we could get straight off after of course munching a works burger each - almost as good as New Zealand's Ferg burger!!!
In Port Douglas we went to the Yacht club where they take people out on the Yachts for free - awesome! Unfortunately though there were too many people and not enough boats so we had to make do with a few pints on land.
The following day we were going to bike ride around the historical buildings of Port Douglas but the bikes were all out - again I say, DOH!!
It was okay though, we just walked instead.
The church, St Mary's by the sea has a 2 year waiting list for weddings and we could totally see why, it was beautiful and the view through the alter window was amazing - the sea, believe it or not.
We then went to the old courthouse and then up to the lookout over Port Doug which was up a humungous hill!!!
After a yummy barbeque of kangabangas and chicken we planned to go to a beach party but that was unfortunately cancelled so we looked for somewhere else to go instead.
On returning to the tent Naomi and I found that it had been left open... pure fear set in, we're in Tropical Queensland, there are all sorts of nasty wild things that could be in our sleeping bags waiting to pounce!!!
we did a quick search about and braved getting in and then we saw it.....
A FROG!!!!!! Thank god that's all it was but you wouldn't have known it from the squeals - a guy came over because he assumed it must have been a snake!! haha
The gentleman kindly removed the little green tree frog from the tent and we were safe until...
A POSSUM!!!! Yep but no, it wasn't in the sleeping part, it was eating the food in the entrance part. At least we assumed it was a Possum, we didn't want to get out and check incase it was a Dingo or something!
Needless to say Naomi and I were a little tired the next day when a well rested Lucy and Louise imerged from the car ready to head back to Cairns. haha
