Hi everyone!
Very quick message to let you know I'm safe in Moshi. I had a loooong hot bus ride up.
The house is great. There are 20 volunteers at the moment. I'm in a room of 5 and we have a good time (although, just so you know, having a good time on a monday night when you have to walk for an hour on tuesday morning is a bad idea).
I do 2 projects. In the morning I do 2 shifts at the Kalilene nursery school, teaching numbers, the alphabet etc. Nursery is for 3 to 6 year olds. The oldest pupil I have is 13. His parents can't afford primary school, at about 50 pounds a year. The classroom is tiny, with wooden benches and a blackboard, sometimes 60 or 70 children. I'm having an amazing, if difficult time.
In the afternoon (soon) I teach an adult advanced speaking class to masai. It's great, one big duscussion.
Have to be off now. Hopefully climbing kili in my last week. Wish me luck, barely anyone gets to the top. Hope you're all doing well, see you next month!
Lots of love xxx
