Today we decided to make use of the pool at the hotel. I felt German because we claimed our beds before breakfast. Whilst we were out there sunbathing we started talking to some guys who lived in Milton Keynes and a girl who we had met in Nha Trang at the water park.
We decided it wasn't sunny enough to just sit around by the pool though so decided to go and find Piece which was meant to be a really good tailor. When we got there the guys from the pool were there picking up some bits. Carm ordered some shorts but they didn't have a computer for me to show them what I wanted so I couldn't order it.
We walked down the road though and someone else had a computer so I showed them the playsuit I wanted making which was a French Connection one worth £130. She said she would make it for me for about £10! Bargain. I was measured up, chose my material which is a really nice purple with pattern all over it and then I would just come back the next day to pick it up.
After that we went for a wonder around the market and looking in different shops. We then had a coffee in Before and Now and Carm got a cake which looked really good! On the way back to the hotel we walked past a few shoe shops, in one of them I ordered some nice sandles to wear on nights out because the ones I had had broken.
Dinner was quite early that night because Carm had to go and pick up her shorts. As we had seen someone eating one earlier in Before and Now, we had a sandwich which was sooo nice! It's so rare to find brown bread in Asia so it was lovely to have it again.
Once we had finished dinner we went down to the river front to have some 4000 dong beer which is about 10p. There we met some guys who were travelling in a big group. We told them to go to Before and Now because its where most people head. Carm and I left just before them and on our way over we were called over by a group of locals with an Aussie guy who asked us to sit with them. We thought why not! The whole point in coming travelling is to experience different cultures so what better way to do it than sitting with the people who live there.
They gave us a couple of free beers and we sat and chatted with them for a while. One of them owned a shoe shop and I asked him if he would make me some shoes for $5 but he just laughed at me and said he would make me 1 shoe. The other guy had been talking to Carm and had asked her if we had boyfriends. As he was a bit older she thought he was just making conversation but it turned out afterwards he started saying to me he really liked me and kept stroking my arm. I told him I had a boyfriend and he told me Carm had said I didn't so I just said oh she thinks I don't have a boyfriend because we had a fight but we are still together. It made no difference! So after a while when I had had enough I went home!

Gran MORE clothes to fit in... but how can you resist buying at those amazing prices? Uh-uh... MORE encounters with unknown guys. What might they have put in those free beers? Experiencing different cultures in that way could have its drawbacks... or am I being too cautious and over-protective towards my granddaughter? I like your patter re having a boyfriend anyway!
