Got up at half 5! Got quickly dressed and headed down with Laura and Sarah (the other two girls doing the Oz Ex) to the Oz Ex office. Handed in our vouchers and got our wristbands. There were 2 buses as it was a busy day, and I wasn't on the same bus as Laura and Sarah which was a shame. The buses are very different from the Kiwi ones! Like little mini buses with trailers on the back for the luggage. Each bus fits 24 people as oppose to the Kiwi buses which were 50. So it will mean smaller groups, can't decide if thats a good or a bad thing haha. Anyway got on the bus and was on a seat near the front on my own (there are 2 seats then the ailse then 1 seat). I was surrounded by German people and didn't know if there were any other English people on it! The driver, Wings, was wicked, really nice and helpful. We left at half 6, and left Sydney over the harbour bridge. Stopped off for breakfast at a service station (where i met with Sarah and Laura) where I spoke to Wings about what I was doing. He said he could book me in at Coffs harbour or take me straight to Spot X... started to doubt whether many people actually go to Coffs Harbour but he booked me in. We then carried on going. I then slept for a couple of hours but was woken up by the German girls (unbelivably noisey, noisiest people I have ever heard!) then read and finished Fight Club, which was really good. Need a new book now though! When we stopped off for lunch at a pie shop I sat with 2 English girls called Becky and Abby who were also on my bus and both travelling alone. Had a pie and some ice cream then got back on the bus. Was still feeling that maybe I shouldn't stop at Coff's Harbour so spoke to Wings. Could tell pretty quickly he thought I would be better off going tsraight to Spot X! The only other people going to Coff's harbour were the 4 German girls who were together so thought I would be much better off sticking with the gorup where I could meet other people. So he changed it for me again (like I say, really helpful!) and I felt a bit more relaxed! After we dropped the girls off at Coff's Harbour he was totally honest and said there wasn't a lot to do there at all. We carried on the long drive (which I didn't actually mind - I was pleased to be getting out of Sydney and happy sleeping, reading and looking out the window.... even saw some wild kangaroos on the side of the road!) and got to Spot X at 4 and it straight away looked awesome. Got a little tour - it was 15 mins away from the nearest town and right next to the beach! There was the main reception with a little shop and some computers where we signed in. We then got showed the rooms, all in little huts with 4 beds and en-suites which we didn't expect! I was in a room with Abby and 2 other girls from England, Jenny and Amy, who were travelling together. Becky was in the room next to us with 3 guys from England- Jonty, Dean and Mike. There was a common room with a big tv, an outside eating area next to the kitchen, a campfire with surfboard benches around it and then the surf school area with hammocks, all the surfing gear and some benches. There was a little bridge to the beach which looked stunning and was soo quiet, only for Spot X! Loved it straight away! Got changed then me, Jenny, Abby, Amy and BEcky went down to the beach and chilled out chatting and having a little dip in the sea. Was really nice to be away from Syndey and chilling out. We then went to the room and got changed, ready for dinner at half 6. All you could eat buffet, so had some chicken curry, rice, pasta, salad.... not used to eating so much so was full pretty quickly! Then we all sat round chatting, Saw my first huge spider, a huntsman, which kind of creeped me out!! Was huge and about a meter away from me! So I went and sat with Sarah and Laura who had met up with some guys they had met in Sydney - Zac, Jamie, Billy and Jeremy. They all knew eachother but Zac and Jamie were travelling together as were Billy and Jeremy. The girls from my room went to bed but the rest of us went and sat by the campfire which was awesome, just how you imagine chilling out in Oz! The stars looked incredible too! Then someone got out a guitar, not to my suprise, and we chilled out listening to that :-) Went to bed about 1 (i think) ready for 7 o'clock start the next day.
