Woke early and had muesli and tillamook yogurt. Weather more overcast. Went for a last walk on the beach. Had an idea fir my college art project involving writing wirds in the sand and then photographing the tide coming in and erasing them. We bith decided that the beach is the most beautiful we have seenss ut is so vast and empty of people. Nature at its best.
Packed the car up and said goodbye to bandon. The trip to diamond lake is 180 miles. We went on the scenic route to roseberg. The 138 was hood. The scenery was lots of forests surrounded by mountains. When we git to roseberg we were goong to stop but it appeared very urban. We just filled up with petrol.
We saw a possible place called munchies at a place called glide just putside of roseberg. It was a small cafe advertising mexican food. Martin hsd a wildcat burger and fries and i had a sammie. A sort of bun/ sandwich with chicken and crispy bacon. Delicious. Unlimited coffee of course.
Went to the dollar tree further down the rosd to get some supplies. This is a general food store. Bought some laundry liquid as neefing to grt sone clothes vleaned. The assistant thought martins accent was cute.
Stopped at a waterfall calle clear water. This was not far from the road. A beautiful location. The waterfall flowed from a large lake. We climbed to the top.
Time was moving in so kept travelling and arrived at diamond lake about 4ish. It is a flat lake surrounded by lodges and boats. A lot of fishing types around and large trucks. We were booked into the cheapet motrl room which still was over $100 a night. No other place near for miles and miles. The accommodation was basic but clean. Unloaded the car and did some exploring. There was a small store for campers. Also a cafe and rustic restaurant with sports tv on. ....American football. We sat outside sd ghe temp wad warm late 60's. Martin had an ipa and so did i. It all felt very peaceful. Not too many people around. A lack of internet in rooms and no service. Eek
We decided to eat in the restaurant and had the soecial herb enrusted rib eye with jacket potato. This is only served fri/ sat.
After 45 minutes wait (lucky not too hungry) the meal arrived. Very large steak nice. Tired sfter driving went back to the room and watched sone tele.
