Decided we would see if we could get into the Go-Karts this morning, which we were able to book for 11:30 am. So we took a walk around the resort we're at and ended up getting coffee & hot chocolate (for free - after they made the hot chocolate by mistake) from one of the resort restaurants/cafés.
Headed out to the Go-Karts, only 10 min away. The karts allowed me to accelerate / brake, but I could share/let Ethan drive. This worked great. And we had a lot of fun tearing around the track. The weather was great again (we've, in our opinion, had great weather throughout - never needed rain jackets/umbrellas and while cool, it has not been too bad). It had rained prior to us going, so the track was perfect and easy to "drift" around corners, but it was sunny, so we weren't getting wet.
Following the Go-Karts, we returned to our accommodation & had some lunch/chat with mummy. Had some bubble tea, which wasn't great, but we made up some games to play with it… (like Ethan shooting it into my mouth).
Then off to Town to play some mini golf. We had a lot of fun which this; we launched a few balls by accident across the entire course (the course required hitting some very hard, but if you were slightly off-alignment, it would go flying). Our final scores came in close.
Took a walk through town, picked up some food for dinner from Woollies, and then went through the rest of town and down to the beach.
The beach was really windy and rough! Like really rough, and the tide was right in. According to a local, it's never like this - which we had figured as we watched established plants on the beach get destroyed (eroded out and washed away). We (Ethan especially) loved running along the walkway with waves splashing over a lot. We got quite wet - Ethan got so hot from running around that he ended up taking off his jumper & just in a t-shirt, despite everyone else having jackets, beanies and scarves…
We spent much time playing along the foreshore, then went out on the Jetty. We devised a game of trying to miss the waves by running across a platform with holes in it that water would burst through when a wave came. We kept trying our luck! Inevitably we ended up with very wet shoes & legs. Ethan didn't want to stop the game. We did eventually after sunset.
Walked back through town & back to the accommodation. Organised dinner and did some washing & while waiting for it to dry, we went to one of the on-site gyms. On returning to the laundry, it turned out the dryer hadn't done anything - so we put it into another dryer & we're hoping it will be dry by the morning…
Have posted a few videos, under the Video's link, of our time away so far, and a few for today.
Also, today, I was able to get 30% back from our Melbourne accommodation (while it was great accommodation and served us very well - there were some major issues - like the Smoke-alarm being tapped over & the owner never responding when I enquired re this issue & and other issues).
Off to Mansfield tomorrow, Planning on a few stops in the Yarra Valley on the way. Approx 5.5hr's of travelling.
