Got up around 9 am (I beat Ethan up for the first time!) and got ready for the day - we discovered the shower head lights up and changed colour when the water is running!
We had planned on going Jet Boating at 11:30; however, we ended up moving this forward as the weather was looking a bit windy later (as it happened, it ended up being a reasonably calm day). Went over to San Remo for the ride.
The ride was great (it was just the 2 of us + the skipper in a Thunder-cat); we flew around some of Philip Island with stops to take in the views. Ethan loved it; it was very fast. Apparently, they can go up to 100kmph - he (the skipper) wasn't sure how fast we ended up going (it wouldn't have been that fast) - but we both had very wind-swept hair by the end.
There was a local fish and chip co-op beside the boat ramp. From the outside looked like it could be closed. On closer inspection, not only was it open, but the inside was almost full. We decided to have lunch there - reasonably priced and good - and the fish was locally caught. We Briefly went past the penguin feeding on the foreshore outside - but it was packed, so we continued on our way.
Went back to Phillip Island and stopped at a local café for coffee & to chat with Mum, then into town to get some washing done. Took a stroll around the jetty - Ethan had fun trying to jump on a low platform when the waves came through without getting wet. Back on the foreshore, Ethan also spent some time doing wildlife photography (trying to get action shots of the seagulls) - he had a lot of fun with this. Ethan had an ice cream in town while we waited for the dryer.
Then we got our "Aldi fix" and catalogue (we hadn't been to an Aldi in over a week!) and got some food for dinner.
Had some time, so we decided to "research" the BMW's features. Wow, there's a lot of gimmicks. Had a lot of fun mucking around with it, talking to it, changing the interior feature lighting colour scheme (yes, that is possible!) and much more...
Headed out to the penguin parade - they have really done up the building since we were there last with a fancy restaurant, a bar, an interpretive centre, a theatre, interactive displays, and more - very architectural. Despite being packed - we got an un-crowded spot on the beach at the front. While waiting, Ethan had fun digging a "walkway" for the penguins to come under the rope and onto a pedestal next to him :)
We watched the penguins come in; as it happened, there weren't heaps, but the ones that did come up were close-ish to where we sat - we didn't see any come up over where the premium spots were… Photography is banned after sunset; however, there were a lot of people still taking photos! As we walked around the board-walks (stopping regularly for Ethan to get more sand out of his shoes, go back to get his watch, etc…), we were able to spot some penguins and walk along while one walked next to us (on the other side of the fence). Ethan had hoped to "see millions" of penguins - so he was a bit underwhelmed by the numbers.
Drove back to our accommodation; we saw some wildlife walking in front of us on the road on the way (we managed to miss it all). Had dinner and mucked around before settling down for the evening.
We're planning on doing some nature walks/lookouts tomorrow & possibly go-to Amaz'n'things.

Bronwyn Another fun-filled day! The boat ride sounds exhilarating. Some great seagull action shots Ethan.
