G'day people.
We left you with our Fraser Island expedition and since we've been to so many amzing places and seen some incredible stuff.
So we left Hervey Bay the next morning, after an eventful night with the Fraser family in the Irish pub and headed to a place called Noosa. A supposedly sleepy, but expensive surfing town. It was the first town that we really felt we liked and wouldn't mind living there. Its built on the estuary as it winds our to sea and as you drive through the suburb called Noosaville, You are surrounded by water on all sides and amzing, huge posh houses line the water. Pretty nice. We stayed on an overpriced site for 2 nights here as it was a 'we'll move you on or fine you' zone. However it was nice to have a base for 2 days. The weather was still the same as Fraser, grey and miserable and cold!! So we didn't really get up to much. However went into town to the famous Noosa Pie shop and returned to the campsite, full of pie and 2 new surfboards. New to us anyway. The next day the sun shone, so we went for a walk around Noosa Heads national park. It took us about 2.5 hours and the funniest thing was part of the track ran along a nudist beach. Disturbing but hilairous all the same, Lauren managed to get some tasteful snaps. We then went for a surf on our new boards but the waves weren't really up to much so it was time to move on.
From Noosa we drove straight to Brisbane, Capital of Queensland. That night we sneakily stayed behind the back of a petrol station, only the best for us, and awoke to the sound of Road trains everywhere. Brisbane was a really cool city, so we stayed for the day just moseying and then It went bad. We had to park our van on the outskirts because all the car parks are multi-story and we got the bus into the centre. However, when it was time to get home we got stuck because although the bus went to where we thought we'd parked, we had a brand new bus driver on his first day and he had no idea where we were either. So there we were having to get off the bus because it went no further, not knowing where our van was parked and not a clue where we were!! We managed to find a Brisbane road map in a nearby petrol station and it was only when I looked at the map and saw the name of the street we parked on I remebered. Anyway eventually we had to get a taxi back to vince the van, whho we were so glad to see. Then there was another whole episode because we had no-where to stay and No idea how to get out of the city. So we just drove, and drove, and then some more until we just parked in a motel carpark in Redland Bay. But we slept and all was good so the next day we headed to a City called 'Surfers Paradise'. What a ridiculous name for a city we thought but it was a special place which we'll talk about in good time.
We'll be back soon,
Stu x
