Hi Helen. Love reading about your adventures but never seem to have time in school to reply so taking time now and ignoring the pile of S4 prelim marking that has to be done for tomorrow. It's never ending! All well at Drumclair. Was at a great family ceilidh on Friday evening. The kids even danced with their ancient parents. Took possession of a new car- new to us that is- on Saturday. The most fantastic thing about it is that it's black and has heated seats. How pathetic is that! Still doing lots of dog walking. Tommy's aiding my recovery by making me walk for an hour 3/4 times a week. Continues to be the darling of the family. We took him with us to Northumberland in Oct hols. We had a brilliant week. The coastline south of Bamburgh is fantastic. I know lots of staff were away exotic places but I didn't feel at all envious. So much to see and do. Saw a fantastic production of The Canterbury Tales. Rude and bawdy. Sounds like election night was one to remember. There's been lots of interest here. I assume you are in a democrat stronghold? Will check calendar. Would be fab to see you in Dec and hear about your adventures so far in your authentic Clydebank voice. Enjoy the lead up to Chistmas.

Cannot believe only a few weeks till we see you. How strange to be dipping into your old life half way through your adventure! It will be great to see you. All fine here - Jenny dancing every night - applying for Knightswood aaaagh! Cam about to start driving lessons. Went to Glasgow to see West Side Story on Saturday. It was great -thought about you - you would have loved it.

Lots of love and thoughts

Hello Helen, Congratulations first on your wonderful baby news, how exciting! Sorry I haven't been in touch for ages - nose to the grindstone making work for my show was the reason. I had 127 pieces this year, what a standard I have set for myself for next year!!!! The show was on Wednesday night in the village hall in Dunscore and it was a brilliant night, went very well and all the feedback is very positive so that is nice too. Just drawing breath now and getting ready to attack the Christmas orders. I have also had a friend Helen here who is at the Art College in Dumfries doing her work placement with me - 8 sessions in which I have helped her complete a piece of jewellery. After initial panics, I realise I can teach and I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience as has Helen. One more session to go and that is the placement completed. Seems all the other students are now queueing up to come to me too so I must have done something right. It has been a nice busy month socially too, Leonard Cohen again in Glasgow on 5th November was FAB! Fitting in plenty of beauty treatments as well and I am also getting back to Bannatynes a lot more so life is good. I would love to see you at the lunch when you are home, will speak to Anne about that. Look forward to seeing you hopefully.
