Hello! Heres a short version of the rest of Prague and the Czech Republic:
We took an overnight train down into Prague and the scenerey was really pretty, lots of rolling hills and stuff. When we got to the train station, we searched for accomodation on the internet and I found something pretty cheap but away from the good stuff. It was close to a Praha Bubny station which is only a 5 minute ride to the old Prague area. We walked around Prague for a bit near the border of old and new town and then went to search for our hotel. We ended up going to Praha Holesovice which we didn't know was the wrong station. (There was a station on the map, and I assumed is was Holeosevice because of google maps earlier.) So we were walking around trying to find something that resemebled anything on our map but not much luck. We went to a back ally kind of place and two cops taking a smoke break. After one was done peeing, I asked if they knew where we were and how to get to our hotel. Since we got off at the wrong train station, our map didn't show the streets and it was too hard to explain it to us so they gave us a ride! It was so sweet and they got us as close as they could. Dropped our stuff off and explored some more. Next day we were trying to find the station we passed us but no luck so we just walked along the river until we reached the Charles bridge which was very nice all along the water. Went across the bridge and had lunch. I kept saying we should eat before we got to the main area but couldn't find anything good. So we got the tourist trap. Dun dun dun. We got the bread scam and something else I think... not too sure. The place was cute though, we sat a sewing machine table and the dessert and beer was good! Pizza was ok. It only took about a month for us to really fall for something like that though! Then went to the astronomical clock and that area. I thought it was going to be higher up but still sweet looking. Went back to the secondary train station(Praha Mass.) and found a train to Bubny. When we got off I was surprised where we were. We passed the spot twice while looking for it. Its really small and run down looking and its a parking lot from the street. But it was a 5 minute walk to our place. Next day we went to Kutna Hora and saw the bone church. Very interesting and cute train ride. I kind of thought that the bones were being disrespected but I touched one haha. It felt like bone. Had lunch at a cute pizzaria. Took a long train back and enjoyed the scenery. Next day we were going to head back to Germany so we just planned to take trains west... haha.... Well, it was a Saturday and trains run on different times on weekends so I had a hard time really finding where we were going. We went in a circle around Plzen pretty much. One train we got off in a small place called Plesy which was really cool and foggy and we were going to try and find a place there but no luck. When we got back to the train station it was dark and about 7. I figure lets get on the next train and see what happens then. Well, that went to an even smaller station and there were no more trains for the night. The train guy didn't speak English really but showed me the next train was at 5:25 the next morning. We slept at that station and no one bothered us which was nice... but I don't think anyone was around to haha. So then we got back to Plzen and then back to Prague. No overnight trains to Germany and accomadation still expensive there so we figure lets keep going to Vienna. The first night train had all the seat booked and the second one was about 4-5 hours and we were pretty tired from the night before so we looked into sleepers. We got a three berth one but actually we had to buy the third bed because no gender mixing even though the lady didn't tell us and I didn't want to be split up. It was pretty nice.
Vienna now haha:
We got to Vienna around 6ish. The tourist office didn't open until 8 I think so I didn't want to wait around. We took the subway to the center and walked around. It was pretty cold but the sights were really nice. We saw St. Stephens Cathedral and went in a bit, very nice. Then walked to the Hofburg palace thing and saw that and went into some gardens. The gardens that they have are really lovely. Walked to the Rathaus. Had lunch at the Wiener Rathauskeller which was fancy. I had feltspitz I think? with Vienna white wine and Brian had some juice and goulash. The food was soo good and the atmosphere made it all the better. We got to our place and took a nap :). Today we went to the Kunsthistorisches Museum which was awesome. Kind of expensive but well worth the price. The building inside itself is worth it to see. The Egyptian collection was better than the British Museum I think. It was pretty amazing. Also some cool Roman stuff and dark ages gold. Lots of awesome paintings that you can take pictures of. The had several Caravaggios which I really enjoy along with many Rubens(much more than the Rubenshuis!), some Rembrandts, a Poussin, Raphael, and Duhrer. There was a lady painting a copy of one of the pieces and it looked identical to the original. Really interesting to see. Some of the art were really huge too!
