Louise and Julia's Travels
Hi everyone,
Just spent ages typing the longest message that has been lost so this might be rather shorter!
Survived our glacial trek despite the altitude which meant we had to stop every few steps, and scaled a waterfall to reach the lake at the top- a bit precarious and releived when we all made it down safely. If that wasn't enough we were up at 6.30 the next day for extreme mountain biking- a 45km ride down steep windy roads- never felt so much pain in our hands and wrists as the roads were really rocky, survived the crazy dogs that attempted to bite our ankles, and were 2 of only 5 people that made it all the way down (only girls i might add!). One of the girls managed to wipe out and we had a good view of her patella tendon.
Then moved on to Lima- bit of a grim city with lots of pickpocketers and smog- however good shopping and nightlife (diesel jeans for a bargain 20 pounds!). Managed an epic night out where Louise educated the locals on the rovers in the sports bar, and we took over our very own nightclub until 6am- think Isis or Visage witgh just us gringos on the dance floor- needless to say the hotel's full english breakfast went down well the next day.
Spent last night in the desert after sand boarding and dune buggying- spent the night under the stars, could see the milky way. Not too impressed with the mist in the morning, or the hangover, or the sand- absolutely everywhere!!
Now in Nazca where we went out in a 4 seater plane to view the Nazca lines and now about to have tea at the campsite.
Off to Puerta Inca tomorrow, not long til the Inca trail!
Hope everyone is well xxxxx
