Back in my bed that I've missed for the last 3 weeks, going to miss India, but so happy to be back, well for a short time anyway! :-)
I had to write 250 words about my experience for Indogenuis and I thought I would share what I wrote (although a little cheesy!)
"If someone asked me what my favourite part of the trip was, I'd have to say all of it. It's a bit like asking a mother which one of her two daughters is her favourite, you just simply can't pick one, each moment, each and every event that I have spent the last 3 weeks living through has been inspiring. The vast number of opinions, views and discussion topics which have been presented, propose a variety of highly important aspects about India and the people who call this country home. The interaction and enthusiasm from all the team and staff involved is tremendous, and even after a long day they all still have smiles!
A personal highlight was during the internship, where a small group of us visited a school unarranged, and they welcomed us with open arms, invited us in and immediately wished to help us as much as we could. The kindness and generosity of the Indian people was huge and so unexpected.
Mumbai is like flicking a switch and suddenly going into the modern/western era. The Bombay bicycle ride made me feel like a morning commuter in India, visiting many places otherwise less accessible and my seeing many different aspects of the country and this vibrant city. Hard to ever say when I will next visit, but hopefully sooner rather than later!"
