Where am I? I don't know what I was expecting but it was not this! I've heard that Vancouver sometimes is called ''Hongcouver'' because of the high amount of Chinese/Asian people living in the lower mainland and now I can see why. I was walking around downtown taking in the atmosphere trying to find my way, and I was actually wondering if I went to North America or if I accidently took the wrong flight to Asia. Either way it suites me perfectly because I love Asian food and culture. And there's a sushi place in every corner, they serve great sushi and it's really inexpensive - perfect for my tiny travelling budget!
The hostel that I'm staying at is right downtown which is great, right on Granville street, I'm told that it's the place to be if you're looking for shopping and partying, which I am! I gathered all my courage and asked random people on the street, people who looked like locals that knew what they were talking about as far as partying is concerned. I asked them where to go if you wanted a good night out, I expected to get one answer instead everyone asked me what kind of music I'm into. Apparently there's a club for every music taste, techno, top 40, house, R&B, reggae, salsa, rock... You name it, even gay clubs, I think I'm going to go for the top 40, which is like the songs you hear on the radio. Good thing I just turned 19, which is the drinking age in British Colombia. I also heard that you need two pieces of ID, unless you have a passport, they count as one. Funny Canadians! Anyway, I'll be partying this week, watch out boys!
