Well, from Vietnam, Sonal and I got a plane back to Singapore and then a night train from there to Kuala Lumpur. What an experience that was! I had all my baggage on my bed with me which was a little uncomfortable, but all in all I had quite a good night's sleep.
We got into KL at about 7am, where we caught the metro to our hostel. We only spent one night here (which was enough!). We saw the Petronas Towers, went up the KL tower, walked around China Town and also went to Central Market. To be honest though, I wasn't very impressed with the city at all - Sonal and I got a lot of hassle from men, which kind of ruined the day a little. We were quite glad when we got on the bus out of there to meet the others in Penang!
Penang was quite nice, the beaches were lovely but again, I really didn't like it. We still got a lot of hassle and it seemed like it was impossible to do anything there without queuing for a ticket - bus, train, taxi, toilet, mcdonalds, banks, post offices! We did an island tour one day which was quite interesting, and got to try lychees amd durian (which stinks). Although, the driver kept on taking us to shops around the island and the shopkeepers kept expecting us to buy something which was a bit annoying!
All in all, Malaysia was a big dissapointment for everyone. I'm glad we went, but I won;t be going back in a hurry!
