Hi!!

I got into Bangkok on Wedensday lunchtime. When I got to the hotel I found that I was sharing a room with a Canadian girl from Toronto (not far from where aunty Barbara, Terry, Jenn and Mark live) called Andrea - she is very nice.

After a short nap I went for a walk to find a tourist information centre to get a map. I found the tourist info but when I went in it seemed more like a police station! I was just about to walk out when a man asked what I wanted. After a short chat he gave me a map and the next thing I knew I was in a tuk tuk going for tour of lots of different temples in Bangkok! It was great! It turned out the tuk tuk driver was a Manchester United fan, and when I told him I supported Newcastle he said he liked Alan Shearer.

That night me and some of the others from my group went down Koh san Road (I'm not sure if that is how you spell it!) for some dinner and to get some bargains from the market.

Today Andrea and I went to see the Grand Palace. It is spectacular - there is just so much of it!! After looking around for a while the beautifully decorated buildings all started to look the same. We also saw some other temples and the Golden Mountain - all lovely.

Tonight we catch the overnight train to Chang Mai. I'll be pleased to leave Bangkok - it is a little busy for my liking.
