Morning! We are now in Wellington, New Zealand's capital. Got here yesterday afternoon and had a great party night with the Team last night. No sore heads for us this morning as we were good! Even though my feet are a little sore as I danced and danced.
Weather is warm and sunny with cloudy. Windy (reputed a windy city) but a nice strong breeze. Looking forward to the start of our North Island tour. We're taking it a bit lazy this morning as we have no activities booked and we've decided to get some washing done as we are now over half way through the trip :( and Chris was down to his last clean pair of kegs. We'll wait for that to finish and then head off to the museum and the shops!
A few useless facts:
Wellington is sat on a fault line and has about 100 earthquakes below 5 on the Richter scale per year.
There are approx 48 million sheep in NZ. And 4 million people!
There are over 130 species of fern here (probably where the All Blacks symbol comes from).
Now seen much Maouri culture, but we have booked onto a few culture things in the North Island as that where it seems to be happening. Taupo tomorrow, Rotoura the following day, Waitamo the day after that and then heading up through Auckland to the Bay of Islands for 2 nights.
Better go check the washing...
