I'm sitting in what feels like the middle of the jungle writing this....luckily I'm also sitting here with a beer at the hostel bar! I'm currently staying 2 nights on magnetic island where we have come over to go to the koala sanctuary.

We have been in oz now for 4 days since our trip over from Christchurch which felt like it took a life time!!

We spent the last couple of days in Cairns. Where we were staying in a hostel room with 4 guys.....you could tell this by the smell of them even before you entered the room and the fact the en-suite toilet seat was always up!!!!

The weather wasnt great meaning we did stuff such as going to the cinema but on one of the sunny days we got lucky and went on a days boat trip to the great barrier reef. It was such a good day, I went diving which was amazing and counts towards my PADI which I'm planning to do in Thailand. We saw lots of reef sharks, nemo's, amazing coral and where also lucky enough to see a sea turtle!!!!

Were over on magnetic island. Where we went today to feed wallabies in a car park...very random. Tomorrow were hopping to hire an kind of open top golf kart to explore the island which will be fun!! Then before we leave go to the koala sanctuary for that all important koala cuddling photo!!

Hope all is well at home....will update in a couple of days as long as I survive not being eaten alive by either the bugs, spiders or 50cm wide bats that I didn't know could even exist!! Tonight will be interesting with Lucy and I in the hut who have both now developed fears of bugs and the outdoors we didn't think we had before travelling. Resulting in me being a screaming girl when a butterfly went pass me earlier. Wish us luck for the next 48hrs i think!!!! Xxxx
