Today's adventure took us just a few train stops away to the ruins of Pompeii. Not since my last trip to the Ohio have I seen a place in such disrepair. Today was our day-trip to the Amalfi Coast, a place that managed to do what few can: it completely lived up to its reputation! We took the train about an hour south to Sorrento, and then caught the bus that services this nearly unserviceable coastal area. After the hour long bus ride to Amalfi that covered roughly 30 kms, I am convinced that Italian Grand Prix drivers must cut their teeth driving buses on the Amalfi Coast. Quite a big travel day today as we spent last evening crossing the Adriatic to arrive in Bari, Italy this morning. After some initial new country shock, we were able to get our bearings and catch a bus to Naples in the early afternoon. Wow, Naples! Organized chaos, without a doubt.
