Hello all. Arrived in Singapore on March 10th, stayed at the Little Red Dot Hostel which was really nice, was in a dorm with 4 other girls. Went to a food market thingy and got duck and rice for like one pound fifty (cant find the pound sign!) Next day we tried to go to the Thai embassy to get our Thai visa but found out we had to have all our forms filled in etc which we didn't even have so instead we wondered around the shopping malls, everything is ridiculously cheap. The same things in England are like double the price. Lots of different foods, like dragon fruit, paw paws, and rainbow jelly? Just generally loads of strange knick knacks around. In the night time we all put on maxi dresses and went into the city center. Wondered down a long stretch of restaurants and bars, every single Singapore style restaurant had a huge tank with lobsters, massive crabs, and...frogs. Poor froggies. We decided on mexican because i had some really dodgy chicken the day before. I am now officially a vegetarian in Asia. After tea we went to Raffles and got Singapore Slings. Tasted like traffice light lollys.
