Wow ... So when I first arrived here it was hammering it down with rain for my first night stay on my own in a hostel I was thinking to myself what am I doing ! I walked in my 6 bed mixed dorm at dusky lodge and was greeted by people from around the world, they were all so nice which was a good start . As it was raining some of the guy from Finland said about going in the sauna and having a few beers ... That always sounds like a good idea ! After a could of house we went for dinner at coopers fish and chip shop where we shared a fish selection and always got some cray fish which is apprently the local favourite . The next day I got up early and went on the whale watch tour with a guy from Berlin luckily the weather had cleared up and was a clear day . The boat ride was pretty rough but we we're fortunate enough to see a sperm whale it was amazing they are so big ! We then went further and saw a humpback whale which was even bigger, surrounded the whale were loads of dolphins they were beautiful they were grey and white coloured and full of life they kept on following the boat and I got some great pictures of them jumping out of the water if your ever in kauikora the whale watch tour is a definate must it was only 141 Nzd! I'm now carrying on my journey to Christchurch but would defianty like to return to kauikora as there are so many walks I would love to do !
