Sawasdee, wow get me, that means hello/greetings in Thai!
I am going to have to keep this short as i wrote in this yesterday for about an hour and the whole thing shut down, so Im going to make sure I always write it in word first and keep saving it as the internet is useless over here.
Thanks for all of your messages and comments, they are fab and Em and I have really enjoyed reading them. Glad to hear you are well and hopefully not missing me too much. Oh and before I forget, for those of you that think I am babbling on in this journal thing then its because I am using it as my own personal journal too so I want to maKE SURE i dont miss anything and write everything down, and for those of you that are reading it, then just even better!!
We are now in Koh Toa and it really is the most beautiful place I have ever been to before! I thought Koh Samui was nice but this is just amazing and 10 times prettier. If any of you watch Shipwrecked, on channel 4, thern we are staying on a little beach just like that, if not nicer. We got the boat yesterday from Koh Samui, which took 2 hours and it was one of the worst crossings I have ever been on. It didnt help that poor Em has now come down with my cold/flu and is really poorly now too, bless her. So we got on this boat at 8am yesterday and I half the people on the boat (well actuallly it was a catamaran), were sick, quite badly. I was one of the lucky few that wasnt but it wasnt apretty sight having to watch everyone and help everyone, especially Em. I felt so bad for her. But we eventually arrived on safe land and I just fell in love withe island straight away. We have managed to find a cottage on the beach,Sarui Cottages right next to the water, its the best feeling in the world going to sleep and waking up listning to the waves crashing next to you, although Em is not too keen as she said she thought she felt she was drowbning all last night, haha. That girl, I may just have to leave her somewhere, hehe. We also have a balcony and a hammock which is the coolest thing. Everyone here is a bacvkpakcer/traveller and there are all sorts of nationalities, everyones really friendly. Wewve got our cottrage nice and cheap too, its only 10 pounds each for 3 nights. Although I am trying to get used to their way of life on this islabnd, the toilet is not really a toilet as it is jusy stuck randomly in this room next to the front door and has no flush??????!!! Yuck, and you can only use the elelectricity between 6pm and midnight. Its all good though. You will also be pleased to know wthat we havent used our hair straighners yet, not once!!!! ;-) Its so laid back and chilled over here, the atmosphere is great. Last night we went and ate on the beach, ( I had to drag Emma out of bed as she really ewasnt feeling too great) and we had seafood cooked fresh infront of you on the BBQ with corn on the cob, it was so yummy, best meal yet. The fish was gorgeoous, then we went to this bar where they had fire throwers and different enteratinment. It was such a randon bar, on the beach, and you just lie/sit on these mates and chill out with all the other travellers. Theres a great vibe here.
Emily, sadly we havent managed to find Em a man yet but Im working on it. Theres lot of Aussies here so watch this space! I however, am more concerned about keeping my spot on the beach and just lying and watching the waves all day. I have decided that I could easily live on the beach, its just so beautiful. Yestedeay I spent about 3 hours reading my book in the water and then later I just sat and watched the sun set, what a fab day! Kelly, the first time I saw this island I thought of you, as I know how much you love the ocean and your beaches and you would love it eher! If you ever get a chnace to come to Koh Toa ( Its just north of Samui), then you should def try and come.
We are going to try and stay here in our cottage until Friday and then hopefully we will be able to find some accommodation on Kho Phangan which is where the full moon party is on Friday night. The only problem is, we have to get the boat back and Em has already said that there is NO way shi is ever getting on a bopat again. I did try and tell her that thats the only way you can get off the island but she didnt seem interested, oooooops. Apparently there will be over 20,000 people trying to cram onto the island this weekend to find somewhere to sleep so keep your fingers and toes crossed for us that we find somewhere, and hopefully we will get a toilet with a flush this time>?! I would be more than happy to sleep in a hammock on the beach but Em wants her bed bless her. Its funny how we both have such a different outlook on things over here. I think she is slowly getting used to it though.
Well its 10.50am here now and we are off to get some breakfast. The fresh fruit over here is so nice, and lots of different juices. The cocounut juice is the best though!!!
I've also mananaged to squeeze in yet another massage to my busy and hectic time table over here, haha. I think Ive had 4 now, in 6 days. thats good going for me.. We only apid a pound yesterday for a full body massage on our sun loungers on the beach!!!!!
I will try and put some photos on soon but may have to wait till I get to Melbourne as these computers arent very reliable.
Love always, Loo and Em xxxxxxx
