We've been in New Zealand for over a week and we have already done a big circle around the South Island with the Magic Bus. Great idea that bus!
Anyway we have been buying cheap layers to wear since it is so cold and slowly look more and more like homeless people. We are starting to get tired of moving so much but...what haven't we done in the last few days??!!
Highlights South Island:
Not stopping: Looking round huge deserted beaches (since very cold) with all types of weird formations, chimneys and magical stuff. Lots of beautiful lakes that reflect perfectly the snowy mountains around them, mountains with not much snow but lots of trees, forrests, waterfalls, dolphins going wild in the wild, seals showing just their little legs above water and just everything we could ever ask for. Not surprised Lord of the Ring and Jurassic Park were filmed here, where else!?
Oh! Can't forget the visits to the beer factories, street markets, museums and the winter festival in Queenstown which waited for us to arrive before letting the fire works go, we did lots of dancing in the street...well ok jumping...with some mulled wine. However, we have not yet seen a Kiwi other than the human and fruity ones.
The train journey from Chrischurch to Greymouth over the mountains. Espectacular!
We went up the Franz Josef glacier by helicopter. Just Uxio and Lola walking around the ice with their guides. It was like out of a dream. We felt like explorers from National Geographic.
We threw our budget out of the window (further) and ourselves off a snowy mountain with strangers in charge of our lives on a paraglide. We loved it and now are waiting eagerly for our next fix of adrenaline doing a sky dive. Don't worry mum, it's a joke.
We met Auxi, David, Lidia and Jesus and had a great time with them on the bus ride to Milford Sound and back and had a great night out. Lots and lots of fun. We also won a free sky dive on a raffle, we had to leave the next day and can't wait to hear who actually jumped and how it was!! Let us know!!
In a couple of days we are off to the North Island to finally find beautiful, sweet, fun Leanne!!!
