We've spent a few days resting in McLeod Gang. Dalai Lama's official residence and were the Tibetan government in exile is based. Very very chilled out and really odd because it seems we are in a different country!! More Tibetans
(monks included -thinking of Shahida!) and travellers in the streets than anyone else. The village is a few streets and lots of green mountains. The Himalayas at the end.
Highlights:
Less spaces on the bus from Delhi to McLeod Ganj than the number of tickets they sold. So we end up squashed in the very last seats, bumping our heads with the bed above with every little stone in the road, no view out of a window and very very squashed. Our only view for 16 hours being the other very squashed people in front of us or the very comfortable people lucky enough to get a bunk bed and stretch their legs out. Oh! We also saw lots of the young Israeli who fancied himself a hippy, smoked through the night, played the guitar whenever inspiration struck him and walked around with his head torch on looking for ..butterflies, talking chairs or wool green clouds?
First diarrhea test passed with merit!!!! Lola has spent the last 36 hours stuck to the toilet and is now fine and eating again. She is even a little happy she had an excuse to stay in the room and watch some T.V during the wc breaks. Uxio has been great getting all the necessities, being really nice company and giving lots of TLC.
Watching the monks argue. One of them sits down and listens and then answers with the aim of proving the other wrong. The other one who is standing up moves a bit as if dancing and every time he thinks he has a good argument he claps as he says it. That's what we have decided to try in our next argument at least then you add some movement to it.
The Tibetan cooking lessons and talking to the teacher. Uxio gave him some top tips on expanding his business and agreed to edit the video he recorded to make a DVD! We also have some new recipes for the next time we have a dinner at home!
