Today began at 6 am! This is when our ferry docked on Crete. We then found a taxi and we're on our way to the apartment Im Bali. However our taxi driver didn't know where he was going
So I Googled the apartment and found the number which he then rang asking for directions. Eventually we arrived and checked in we even got breakfast once entering our room we all collapsed on ourbeds and had a nap. For dad n me this was an hour long. For mike it took us longer to get him moving. We then began to check out Bali which is beautiful. Reasonably priced food and beer and fun water sports. We swam and enjoyed the beauty of the area. There's not much in the way of shops but it's definitely a beautiful base if staying on Crete. Also some lovely walks, caves, coves and historical sights such as the monastery. The village also arrange day trips should you wish to venture out if going stir crazy. Which I know I will at times there's only so much swimming in the sea I can do.
Later over dinner we talked to our hotel manager who advised us the cheapest way to get to Chania our hope for tomorrow was to hire a car. 35 euros we thought good deal. So fingers crossed tomorrow the car hire is easy to sort and we safely get from Bali to Chania and back enjoying our journey. Lots of hills so wish us luck. We will even be picked up from the hotel taken to the car hire company and go through the paperwork. Which made me happy as our apartment is on a very steep hill who have in didn't fancy driving up or down.
