There are over 100,000 muscles in an elephants trunk...!
There's alot you can learn in a short space of time, one of hundreds of new things i have learnt! Today i was emailing and reading some of the books we have access to! I am going to look at the vegetation that is on the reserve as a littel project for the week if i get the time. There are several types of aloes...i will learn alot about them when we go to the factory. In south africa there are 125 species of this type of plant and many are used to extract alovera with different uses and ways of extracting it. There are numerouse flowering plants and several plants hear that could be used for medicinal purposes. I had a nice afternoon reading about differnt plants and learning more about the animals.
At 5 i went to visit the elephants agiain, i sat and watched them for half an hour... could of stayed all night! There extremly good at striping the bark of the plants they eat, the way they combine there trunk and using there foot to allow the trunk to rip branches of the main steam to then allow them to strip the bark!
It's so easy to just sit and watch them and you dont need to be taking pictures becuase it will never capture the expereince of you sitting meters away as they sook up water in there trunk and squirt it in there mouths. I took a video of the elphants but still wont capture the human eye!
Tonights sunrise.....the sky was so pink, as the mountains stood out with the clouds of pink sky all around them, it was a nice way to end the weekend.
Let teh new week begin!
