The photo is out my bedroom window so doesn't really show of 'Tana'.
Sat having a beer with Dad. Its a lovely temperature but with the odd mozzie flying around. We're in a very cheap hotel - about £15 a night, run by Chinese so guess what we're eating tonight. Amazingly they have very fast Internet!
So Dad was at the airport a couple of hours before I arrived but unfortunately his luggage wasn't. We're hoping it will arrive on Thursday but not sure where we will be then. So first stop was the local supermarket to buy clothes and toiletries. Not easy with Dad who is small and just a bit fussy - but he's decked out in a new shirt and I made him buy some trendy flip flops!
We first went to the offices of our tour guide Rija to pay the money! Then our guide Angelo and the driver took us to the hotel (via the supermarket). Fortunately Angelo's English is not bad as both mine and Dad's French is very basic but we give it a go!
It's got a totally different feel to other parts of Africa I have been to. Antananarivo as far as I can tell has a lot of smog and is pretty spread out with rice paddies and a lake in the middle! A lot of the town is up the side of a hill and looks quite southern European but very run down.
Not totally clued up on where we're going but I'll keep you posted wherever I can.
