Well, we've just arrived back from a game of Ozzy Rules Football at the MCG - Melbourne's spectacular sports stadium! As the name of the sport implies you may think this game is remotely like football ... & you'd be completely wrong!! Absolutely random game with random rules - a cross between rugby, basketball and volleyball. When the ball goes out of touch a linesman throws the ball back into play over his head. Perhaps the type of game you'd have thought would have been created when people were on drugs. Haha. Was brilliant fun to watch and the stadium creates such an amazing atmosphere! Would love to watch some cricket there at some point in the cricket season.

It took us a while to find our feet here in Melbourne and it was slightly stressful as we'd forgotten that it was Eastertime which meant a) that things were closed and b) that lots of hostels/car hire etc were booked up. Made it difficult to stick with the plans we had made which was to travel down the Ocean Road which runs west of Melbourne for several hundred miles. We've managed to get it sorted now thankfully and we've hired a car for a few days as from tomorrow. In the evening's we've ventured out to a variety of pubs and bars around St Kilda which is the suburb that we are staying in. It's a nice area with a small beach, pier, penguin sanctuary!! - the ocean is an amazing colour - and Joel (Em's housemate from uni who has come down from Sydney) says that it's not half as beautiful as it is further up the coast.
