After a quick stop over in Krabi we arrived in Koh Phi Phi and met our porter at the pier, (yes I did say porter, how posh) and it was off to our bungalow. We had a fridge, I could really get used to this kind of luxury again! We spent the next two days trying to dodge the rain showers, having a few drinks and spending a fortune, who ever said Thailand is cheep was lying, don't get me wrong the prices are still a lot less than home but the budget is definitely out the window. On the First night we went to a bar on the beach called hippy's, but had to leave really quick as a cockroach climbed up some ones back an neither of us could sit down then. The second night we decided to stay away from the beach and watched some thai kickboxing and o boy they really go to town on each other at one point two of them came flying out of the ring and practically landed at our feet. The last night was the night we saw victory over the Aussie's, What a game!! We had met back up with some guy's we met in Koh Tao but realised quickly that for some reason all the bars in town where shut. It turned out that there was election the next day and to make the Thai's vote they ban alchol, which is not good when everyone wants to watch the game. We did find one bar and at first they would only serve pop, well until the owner had a quiet word with the police and then we where allowed to drink but only out of buckets (and no mum this does not mean the kind you use to wring out your mop in!!) anyway we won whooohoo who'd have thought it, been in a good mood I stayed to watch the next game with some Kiwi's I met unfortunately there good mood was short lived, oops.
It was then time to move on again and with only two hours sleep it was on to the ferry to Phuket and the worst one yet, you knew it was bad when they came round with the sick bags two minutes in to the trip, a fair few people used them as well, luckily I didn't but it was a close call. Once arriving in Phuket we arrived at our new home and hallelujah a hot shower (sorry if me describing the rooms is a little dull but trust me when you've had 6 weeks of cold showers its really exciting). Once settled we ventured out and discovered that it's actually blackpool, no in fact that's a little harsh on Blackpool, some places there are quite nice! I dont think it helped that it was raining again though. At night we went out in to town and it's no better in the dark. If you have ever fancied Phuket it's made up of bars, ladyboys, people wanting to make you a suit?!?! and more ladyboys, who try to get you to take a photo so they can charge you for it. We decided to sit in one bar where we could see most of the action, you know lady boy's and old men with young thai "friends" when Sam let out a scream, one of those pesky cockroaches decided it liked the look of the inside of her trouser leg, before he had time to settle in Sam had evicted him and we where of to the next bar, especially since one of the more butch ladyboys kept teasing her. Once back to the room we realised that it was not as good as we initially thought the lights went and our neighbours decided to play the guitar most of the night o well, you win some you lose some. The next day we stayed away from there and went to see the show at FantaSea (it's for kids but so what) it was great there were clowns, magic tricks, dancing and and people bouncing on bungy ropes from the ceiling, unfortunately you where not allowed to take photos inside. The biggest bonus was that there was no cockroaches!!!
Phuket done, we packed up our backpacks and jumped on the bus for Georgetwon malaysia.
