After another fantastic overnight train, a coach and a ferry we arrived in Koh Pgangan, needing a little sleep. Spent the first night in the north but didn't get chance do anything before we set of towards the south, and we settled in to our new bungalow and home for the full moon party. Spent our first night on the beach with the others from the bungalows. Cant believe it, come all this way and half the people in our bungalows are from Leeds. The next day was the Full moon party, managed to make it all the way through until the sun came up. I ended up covered in fluorescent paint with glow sticks all other me, but it was a laugh. The next day everyone was dying at our place so the owner did a bbq on the beach with a bonfire and one of the guy's we met played the guitar, how good this is what it's all about!
With Koh Pgangan conquered we got the boat over to Koh Tao and moved in to our new bungalow, and a toilet with a flush, whooohoo but still only a cold shower, ya cant has everything. The next day we started our Padi diving course, in the classroom with some very erm interesting video's, day two was a little better we got to go in the pool and practice our new skills, this is where sam decided it wasn't for her and she is definitely not a water baby, but a sun worshiper. I continued with my new dive buddy Thobias. It was back to the classroom for yet more videos and a final exam, I passed yippee!!! On day 3 of the course we got to go in to the sea and it was sooo rough, we went to two sites and I'm getting the hang of all the diving, saw loads of fishes but no sharks yet, few! Once back from the dives we went out with a few of the guys we met at dive school and maybe had a few too many when you diving the next day, o well you only live once. Last day of school and one of the guy's obviously had too good a time the night before ad didn't make it oops, the rest of us did our qualifying dives and went to 18m. still no sharks. Then if was off to celebrate with a few more drinks. It's a good job the beer is cheep here!
And thats the adventure in the East of Thailand complete was up really early witha sore head to get the boat back to main land so I could cross over to Krabi. Sam had already moved on the day before, I was running late due to the diving so caught the boat with one of the guy's, the sea was a little choppy though and was nearly sick on him a few times, oops not good.
Krabi here I come...
