On Thursday morning I woke to find Jessie & Anna out on the balcony, soaking up the sunshine. It was a beautiful morning & Jessie actually went & put her bikini top on while she ate her breakfast. I tried to find a spot on the corner of tiny balcony that was shaded by trees :P haha I spent the morning doing laundry (finally!!!) down in the swanky laundry room at Jessie's apartment, complete with a drying cupboard, which is the coolest thing I've ever seen! Speeds up the drying of your clothes but doesn't shrink them…so it's kinda just like hanging them outside on a really hot day in Perth I guess! I'm trying to be a little careful now after I had to send a few dresses home with Nigel that became a little teeny tiny after a trip through the tumble dryer. Oops!
Later we headed out to a beautiful park area that is owned by the King of Sweden but is free for the public to use. We went to a café called Rosendalhs Tradgard that's located inside a greenhouse where you can sit out in the gardens (weather permitting :P) - it was just gorgeous! Fortunately we managed to jag a spot of sunshine :) After lunch we continued wandering around the gardens before going to drop Anna off at the tram station, as she had to head back home that evening. Then Jessie & walked along the waterfront & sat down on the dock opposite Grona Lund (the oldest amusement park in Sweden) to enjoy the view for a while. But dark clouds were gathering overhead so we had to head home, stopping along the way to pick up some delicious Swedish candy. Apparently the average Swede consumes 17 kg of candy each year!!
That evening we watched a fantastic Swedish movie that Anna had recommended. It's called Simple Simon in English but the English translation of the Swedish title is actually There Are No Feelings in Space. It's about a boy with Aspergers & his search to find his brother the perfect girlfriend. It's totally hilarious & very heartwarming, & I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh or a feel good movie :)
