On Saturday Helle took me around Oslo on foot to see all the major sights of the beautiful city. Unfortunately the sun had all bus disappeared, but we managed to escape the rain for most of the day, which is by far the most inconvenient thing when you're trying to get out & about. We saw the city's castle & walked through centre of town where all the notable building, museums etc. are. Helle also took me into a couple of quirky home wares store (knowing my love of these kinds of places!) & I picked up a few small goodies before we stopped for lunch.
In the afternoon we made a quick stop by a wonderful vintage store with clothes galore to choose from, to try & pick up an outfit for our Saturday night out. I found a wonderful lilac coloured dress & a beautiful ring that perfectly matched - yet another vintage store success ;) Then we headed home to power nap it up in the afternoon.
In the evening, several of Helle's friends came round to the apartment for drinks to celebrate her birthday (which was the next day). We had a really wonderful time & I met people she'd known from primary school, high school, university, post grad, various jobs…some of her friends had even flown from Copenhagen & Dublin just for the weekend (because you can do that kind of thing in Europe!). After several hours of sitting around drinking, chatting, & listening to the awesome new Rihanna album (Nigel must really be having an influence on me because I spent most of the time listening specifically to the guitarist haha) we headed out to an awesome club where one of Helle's friends who was working behind the bar treated us all to a free celebratory bottle of Moet! Seemed like a good idea at the time…but champagne is NEVER a good drink to end your night on. As I was brutally reminded of the next day :P
