Monday was a lovely, long, lazy day :) We did a whole lot more of nothing…got up, went for a stroll, stopped for coffee at F-café, which has big comfy outdoor couches under umbrellas looking out over the ocean. Sat there for a couple of hours, not doing much. Went & booked some bus tickets to Dubrovnik - we were going to take the 12 hour ferry, but upon finding out that the bus only takes 4-5 hours we figured that was a MUCH better option than getting up at 5:30 in the morning! After that was sorted out we wandered over to the other side of town to the "sandy" beach. Still a lot of rocks & pebbles for a sandy beach if you ask me! One thing traveling has definitely taught me is just how lucky we have it in Australia with our beaches! Still, it was lovely to cool off in the shallow water before heading to lunch.
We ate at Fife café, where an Aussie expat working at our hostel had recommended we go, & it was lovely, simple, fresh food - salads, bread, olives, cheese…so there we sat, eating & doing more nothing. After which we had some icecream down by the waterfront before finding a nice patch of shady grass to lie down on for MORE nothingness. Nap time at the harbour - delightful! :)
After a couple of hours there we figured we'd better move or I might never do so again :P So we went back to our hostel to shower & wake ourselves up. In the evening we had a cocktail down by the water (Long Beach Ice Tea: like a Long Island but replace the coke with cranberry juice - yum!) then went for dinner at a lovely restaurant tucked into a little courtyard in the old town. I got a whole vege plate AND salad! You can just imagine how happy I was :D hehe And for a whole day of doing nothing we got mighty tired mighty quickly…I could really get used to this whole relaxation thing :)
