I though id do this one seprately as then it won't look like ive been Lazy and just done one entry!
So where was I......
Krabi
We caught an overnight train to Krabi. This was no normal train, we had a party carriage! As soon as we got on the train we were greeted by a ladyboy asking ' Will you come to my party?!?!', so so funny. The carriage had disco lights and a bar and normal tables. We got bucket coctials for really cheap that had the deadly Samson Rum which is apparently 80% proof! We all got a very nice sleep that night after a lot of dancing and Karaoke! Wea rrived early in the morning and stopped off for a quick brekkie before going on to Krabi. Krabi was great.... the beaches, weather and nightlife were just what we had hoped for! Our days were spent waking up late, heading down to get street food and then to the beach. The street food was great, you could hget a really decent meal for about a pound. Dave our tour leader took us to a cool local street food market a couple of nights, which was better than our last tour leader who took us to swanky, expensive restaurants!
We have so many great memories of Krabi. Most of them based at the Luna Bar. The bar was right on the beach, and didnt really get started until about midnight. The bucket cocktails were the speciality here, as they are for most of Thailand! At the end of one night Alice, Amy and Andy took the coconuts that were on the wall. The next morning they woke with 7 huge coconuts and a beige coat Alice had picked up form the road in their room.....REBELS!
We caught a longtail boat across to Railay and Prenang Beaches. They were gorgeous. The beach was surrounded by caves and trees so you could get out of the scorching sun. At one point a huge group of monkeys came from know-where which really freaked me out!!! Alice, Amy and I spent ages away out deep in the water having a girly chat! The only bad thing is that there are sea lice that really hurt when they bite you, and that day we seemed to get bitten constantly!
The best day in Krabi was spent on a speedboat! This was a real spash-out with the cash but definately worth it. We were picked up from our beach (Ao Nang) and taken to different spots. Our first stop was the Island where 'The Beach' was filmed. Clear blue waters, white sand and jungle. We stayed here for about an hour and had a knackering game of ultimate frisbee on the beach. We then carried onto a small bay where we stopped to snorkel from the boat. The marine life was great, saw some fish i never even knew exististed! We swam up to the beach and went to check out the monkies that were really chubby from eating all the food that tourists give them! Ather stop off included secluded beaches, snorkeling right out deep in the sea and Kho Phi Phi island for Lunch. The lunch was great, i had the serious shakes either from lack of food and drink that morning or from the nasty Thai red-bull the night before!
Krabi was great, its given me a bit of a taster for the different island sin Thailand, so i defiantely was to return!
