Hi..
Sorry have not bloghged for a while so lots to say, i am just finding myself so busy out here with all the snorkling and partying....
Well I finished off in Bangkok and did the Grand Palace which was amazing, and took the headphones around so felt all cultural that day as i learnt so much. Buddism is not a bad little religion. I also went to the floating markets, which was crazy. We went in a tour and its a good 2 hrs out of bangkok so left early in the morning which never goes down well with me but i did it and was proud of myself. We got there and boarded this small long tail boat with this liuttle old lady and an Ore. She did a good job at geting us around as the place was packed, there was nearly 5 dirfferent crashes that i saw.. The place was grid locked with boats.. It was an experience any way, i bought a pair of shoes and was the only one purchasing on my boat so was been pestered all the way round. It was fun, but by this point i was beginning to get sick of the pestering to bye things. This is Bangkok to a T, people are desperate to sell you things and i am sorry to say rip you off and skank you. This is obviousily not all bangkok people but this was the general impression i got. And yes i did get skanked quite a few times, but i am learning from others how to avoid it. I left my guest house and booked in to hOSTEL WHICH WAS LOVELY.. pROPER TOILETS AND LOVELY SHOWERS AND (oopse sorry just pressed Caps Lock and can not be bothered to amend it) any way yeah really nice hostel and it was in the Silom area so i got to see a different side to bangkok. This was shoppers place and the other was the old town. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and met lots of lovely people with which we are keeping in touch and meeting in Australia as everyone is doing the same kind of route.. so will not be spending christmas and new year on me tod.. :) This hotel was close to Pat Pong, the Ping Pong place so we ventured down there so see what all the fuss os about.. I did not see a show but was pestered and pestered to go in one.. there was 3 of us girlies and they would not leave us alone to go in.. We declined. But we did get rather drunked one night in PatPong and took a big group of us from the Hostel claiming yeah lets all go and see a show ... but we did not. This was after the Hostels halloween party, in which i won a Litre of vodke.... URGH it still makes me feel sick now thing how driunk we were. I think i may of Skyped muy sister in this drunken state so sorry deb as goodness knows what i was jabbering on about..
Next venture on me little old travells was to meet up with me Group tour, down thialand and malaysia. So we met up after it took me 3 hrs to find the place where we were meeting. I was a bit of a shattered mess when i turned up as i had hiked 5 or 6 different blockes looking for it with my moutain of a back pack. I officially have the largest back pack in out group bar one person. So met every one and we spent the first night up Khao San road getting rather tiddley. It was the first night and what best way to get to know each other that having a beer. It was a fun night, and got to share all outr travel stories as you do. The good thing is there is lots of us doing the austaralian route so we are going to catch up on the way. And i have found a fellow cricket fan who is following it around, so have a cricket buddy. Majoriy of my group are english and german, and an aussie.
We spent a day in bangkok with which i did little as had had enough of bangkok plus i had left me walking boots at the other hostel so had to go and get them.. Oopse Lynette strikes again. I got them back though so its a happy ending. The others did the GrandPalace, but iut is safe to say the others felt very hung over.. Bless this girl Sarah was so poorly she was sick in the grand palace.. Is this some kind of sin to them?? but she was fine after that. Then that night we did the lovely sleeper train down to Krabie. This was not too bad and io was expecting worse, we all got a good night sleep, so woke up feeling fine. the group wanted to get battered oin it but felt this would be a silly idea as when we got there we had to get a 4 hr bus to Krabie.. We all woke and the train had been stood for ages.. we got told the place we were getting off was flooded so we could go no further. There have been bad floods in south thailand but we did not think it would effect us as much. We sat on the train for another hr or so and got out our bus to come and get us. It was chucking it down at this point so we all got a little soaked but no problems as this is what travelling is about, all those little misshaps and problems. We boarded the our mini buses and off we went on our 4 hr journey.. actually this journey turned into 7 hr journey as we had picked the wrong bus to board.. We passed the floods which i have taken pictures of and that was crazy the water was knee high and the bus drove through it for ages. I feel this may be what bust the bus.. as after this it kept braking down. So we were stook on the road sides flagging motorbikes down and cars down for petrol.. This happened 3 times in all and we foiund 3 lovely people that helped us. So from what we could see the bleeding driver had not filled up. This to us was stressfull and annoying and the driver was laughing about it.. I mean this is the driver that speeded a proper boy racer so we were all a little on edge any way. Plus our tour guide was on the other bus so know nothing. We got therer in the end but could not be bothered to do anything in this lovely place of Ao Nang which is in Krabie as we were shattered. We ate and slept. Day 2 was the best day in which we had a speed boat tour booked to take us to some islands off the coast. Phi Phi , Maya and monkey island. This was lovely and we all got the chance to soak up the sun and snorkle.. Something i have never done and loved it. Yes the sea water was making me borke as i kept swallowing it but i could handle this as there was some lovley fish to see. They threw bread out so when we jumped in we jumped in to scoules of fish.. It was fun and has made me so so so exited about doing it in the Great Barrier Reef.. :) I would even do a PADI course but i feel money may be restricting me. I did'nt even have the whole Jaws fear.. which i can even get in wswimming pools so this is good for me :). There was jelly fish in the sea too so we had to avoid them, luckily i did. The water was a little rough so the boat was up and down and crash and bang all the way.. Im sure we could claim for Wip lash!!! but it was fun and i almost slept on it on the way back.. I seem to be able to sleep any where, which is good. This was lovely and well worth the money we paid. On the evenings we go out for a meals as a group and hang out in the bars. There are some crazy people out here,,, single travellers who come out here to bum around and find them self.. lol I have had some interesting conversations with some people, its rather inspiring.. My reply to why are you travelling is cause i am out to enjoy it.. its a little lame compared to everyone else so i think i might change it.. It is so lovely here and so chilled out i keep forgetting i am actually travelling here and that its not a holiday. :) we jet off to Malaysia tomorow To Penange which should be fun but we have an 8 hr journey therer :( .. The second day i did little as we got rather drunked last night as its my room mates birthday aaaand we happend to find this millionair that was happy to bye our group drinks.. Funy so was hung over.
