Moved to a new guesthouse closer to where our trek would leave from and waited an hour for breakfast...ah Thai time. Spent the day wondering around the Old Town and took in a few more temples. Also spent a good 15 minutes marvelling at the considerable concentration of an old Monk meditating in one of the temples...then read the sign in front of him explaining that this was a fibre glass replica of the longest serving monk who had recently passed away. Could have sworn I saw it move!

Evening in quite possibly the best restaurant we've been in so far...even Bill ventured a chicken cashew...and liked it! Talk about adventurous...Bear Grylls eat your heart out. No really.

Followed by a cheeky pint in a local bar with the Welsh governor. Bit of a tool but one must allow for the stupid amounts of gear he must have smoked to get to such a level of 'tooldem'. He promised Lis a jam session when she got back from trekking though so can't be all bad!

Highlight, Arsenal 2 - Norwich 1. Get in you mighty Gooners!

Early to bed for we are taking some light exercise in the morning and a ride on an elephant.
