This was my only full day London. Woke up several times at night, and then at 4:oo am discovered it was quite light out. I assumed my watch had stopped, or somehow I had set it wrong, but apparently it just gets light early.
At breakfast I sat with some young women from Singapore. I'm pretty sure the food was supposed to keep you from coming down the next morning... Set off for Sir John Soanes house, and, arriving early, I wandered the king's college area, very quiet and peaceful--quite a contrast to the rest of the day. The museum/ house is fantastic with all manner of nooks and crannies and wonderful art and objects.
Afterward I went for coffee, then set off to Greenwich and the National Maritime Museum. I went by double decker bus to see the sights, then took a Thames Clipper back to see the river sights.
I got off at what is evidently the main tourist draw--the London Eye, a sort of viewing ferris wheel. More crowds at Buckingham Palace and environs (surprise) but found a book store to get maps for my eventual adventures. Runnig out of time, more tomorrow
