Got in at noon their time which was 6 my time. I slept some on the plane, but after getting to the hotel (easily, except at first I thought the Brits didn't label their streets, a perverse quirk which didn't frustrate me too much because I spotted my hotel just about the same moment I started scratching my head--and, of course, they do have streets signs, they are just up on the buildings. After checking in and poking around a bit in the neighborhood, I collapsed for a couple of hours. Then took a shower (it's right accross the hall) and set off for the British Museum which has it's mummies and some odds and ends open late. From there I walked down to the Thames and walked down river to the Tower of London. Which doesn't seem to be a tower from the outside view, but a complex of walls and turrets. Will have to go back to see it up close.
