Got picked up from the hotel and started our long bus journey to La Paz. It was mostly uneventful what with Lisa sleeping and Matthew reading only stopping occasionally so he didn´t get car sick. The driver who never told us his name put on some half decent music(80s and 90s stuff) but it was on too low to properly rock out to.We stopped at the border crossing to get off the bus, cross and get on another bus. This was a bitof a hassle as we were´t sure where we were going and the driver didn´t speak english. We met the guide who would take us over the border and into La Paz. We got our passports stamped for leaving and got stopped by the border police who searched our bags and looked at our Money. We had heard stories about these police taking your Money and saying it was fake and that they needed to keep it. We weren´t fooled but they didn´t try.We got on our next transport and were shown different mountains and volcanoes in the distance. We talked with the guy and he told us that the world´s most dangerous road wasn´t that dangerous anymore because there was a new highway (we later found out that this highway has cost 650million dollars and is still unfinished) which sort of changad our mind about it.We got into La Paz and into our hotel where we checked the Exchange rates and sampled the mini bar before making some phone calls about breakfast and our tours. We went out to check the infamous Witches Market where you can buy aborted llama foetuses and all sorts of crazy hocus pocus remedies for things. We didn´t buy much, a few charms to look after us but nothing else. We wandered round for a while and Matthew bought a few bits and pieces before we went for dinner. Headed back to the hotel and had an early night.
