Hay all... sorry we have not posted for so long it's been a busy couple of weeks and lots of moving around.
We visited Calgary Zoo and the Olympic park to begin with then headed on to Drumheller where the Royal Tyrell Musuem of Palentology is. We found Black Beauty here and it was the most complete T Rex skull ever found. The next day we drove onto Dinosaur Provincial park to complete the "Centesaurus bonebed hike"
Unfortunately we never made it past the 1km mark on the hike due to someone else breaking their leg. However we did get a pretty cool tour of the preparation lab where they examine and prepare all the fossils found.
Leaving Dino park and driving to get back to Vancouver proved to be an extremely long drive.
The ferry over to Vancouver island was pretty cool and fairly easy, then we drove over to Tofino which is on the west coast of the island. Here we did a walk through the rainforest, beachcombed, climbed huge rocks and made friends with some real ecowarriors at our hostel....
Arriving safely back into Vancouver we decided to take a seaplane tour of Vancouver and the islands surrounding it which needless to say both of us were amazed at. The take off and landings were actually better than normal ones so Lisa was very pleased :P We also took a stroll in the sunshine, yes that was sunshine to Stanley Park.
This saw us through to the end of our Canadian adventure, having clocked up 5835km's in "Gertrude" our little Nissan Versa we were feeling pretty pleased with ourselves and headed for the coach down to Seattle.
We arrived at Mark & Julie's yesterday and have been enjoying helping out around the farm/ranch. The tractor was pretty cool and so too were the electric shears. We're off to explore Seattle tomorrow but will make sure we post again soon. Next stop is Montana after our sleepertrain.
Mum's and Dad's sorry we have not called but we promise they are coming in the next couple of days. Take care all. L & E xxx
